How we got started !

What started as a simple friendship between two pastors in 1992 has grown into a movement of love and service that still impacts lives today. When Pastor Sterling Miller of The Family Church and Pastor Freddy Garcia of Eben-Ezer Ministries first connected in Elsa, Texas, neither could have imagined how their partnership would continue shaping communities across the border decades later.

Now led by Pastor Tessy Miller alongside Pastors Nathaniel, Claudia, and Linda at Eben-Ezer, the mission has only deepened. Together, they carry a vision that is both simple and powerful: to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Mexico. Out of that vision, Me + Mexico was born—a ministry dedicated to making mission trips accessible and meaningful for anyone willing to go.

Through the years, what’s remained constant is the heart: serving people with compassion and dignity. In Nuevo Progreso, teams host free medical clinics, led by Tiffany Roy, where patients not only receive care but also hope. Children gather for services filled with joy, laughter, and meals—over 200 plates shared at each trip. Volunteers roll up their sleeves to paint, build, repair, and sometimes even construct homes or playgrounds for neighbors who need them most. Youth groups go to serve, but in the process, they are the ones transformed. Each December, more than 1,000 shoebox gifts are hand-delivered to students, reminding them that they are seen and loved.

Since 2025, Me + Mexico has grown beyond The Family Church, welcoming other churches to join in the experience. What began with two pastors has become a family of believers across borders, united in one mission: to love God and love people in practical ways.

This is more than a trip—it’s a story of faith, friendship, and the incredible things God can do when His people step out together.
